 s is the Founding Director of the Computation-based\nScience and Technolog
 y Research Centre (CaSToRC) of The Cyprus Institute\,\nwhich is being deve
 loped in close partnership with the USA National Center for\nSupercomputin
 g Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at\nUrbana-Champaign. 
 He has also been Professor of Fluid Mechanics and\nComputational Science a
 nd Head of Department at Cranfield University (UK) and\nProfessor of Fluid
  Mechanics at Queen Mary College\, University of London\, UK\n(1999-2003).
  His expertise in computational science and engineering covers a\nbroad ra
 nge of applications in the fields of fluid dynamics\, materials and\nheat 
 transfer. In 2008\, he was awarded the William Penney Fellowship by AWE\n(
 United Kingdom) for his contributions to compressible fluid dynamics and\n
 scientific computing.\n\nProfessor Drikakis has served on several internat
 ional scientific committees\;\nis an associate editor of the ASME Journal 
 of Fluids Engineering\, the Journal\nof Computational and Theoretical Nano
 science\, and The Aeronautical Journal\; a\nmember of the Fluid Dynamics C
 ommittee of the American Institute of\nAeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)
 \; and a Chairman of the International\nWorkshop on the Physics of Compres
 sible Turbulent Mixing\; a Fellow of the\nInstitute of Nanotechnology\; an
