DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Yacine Mehtar-Tani (Brookhaven National Laboratory\,
US)\nQCD jets play a central role in probing QCD at high precision and in
new physics searches at colliders. They are also extensively studied in u
ltra relativistic heavy ion collisions as multi-dimensional probes of the
quark gluon plasma (QGP) that is created in the aftermath of the collision
 s. While the theory for jet evolution in vacuum is well established\, in t
he presence of a hot and dense QCD medium new emergent phenomena take plac
e as a result of jet-medium interactions that have been recently uncovered
and are currently being studied. In this talk\, I will focus on the emble
matic observable of jet quenching that is the nuclear modification factor
and show that by exploring its dependence on jet pT\, collision centrality
and jet cone size we can extract valuable information about the dynamics
and mechanisms of jet energy loss. I will in particular present a recent t
heoretical calculation that accounts for quantum interferences effects on
energy loss that parton shower undergo in the QGP. I will also show predic
tions that were recently compared to ATLAS and ALICE data.\n\nhttps://even
