DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Jiangyong Jia (Stony Brook University\, US)\nHydrod
ynamic simulations of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) permit us not only to g
auge the transport properties of hot QCD matter from data\, but also to co
nstrain the conditions that set the stage for the formation of such matter
. Recent measurements from RHIC and LHC demonstrate that the QGP initial c
ondition is impacted by the shape and radial structure of the colliding nu
clei. Based on a recent community white paper (arXiv:2209.11042)\, we disc
uss physics opportunities for nuclear structure and QGP studies offered by
high-energy nuclear collisions\, with an emphasis on isobar collisions to
clean access to the structural properties of the colliding ions. Recent u
pdates from the INT program 23-1a dedicated to this topic will also be cov
 ered.\n\nhttps://events.saifa.rs/event/554/contributions/391/
